PALMYRA: Pitts, William J., "Bill", died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the age of 81. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Wednesday, November 11 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 West Main Street, Palmyra. Bill was born on March 12, 1928. He and the former Patricia Herne were married on February 24, 1957 in Massena, New York. Bill was a retiree of Fairport Electric. He was an avid bowler and skilled carpenter.The funeral home proudly flies the United States Marine Corp flag in honor of Bill's service to our country during WWII. Bill is survived by his wife Patricia; daughter Cheryl(Jim)Phillips of Newark; grandsons Jon(Jessica Fabrizi)Westerman and Adam(Jessica Murray)Westerman; great-granddaughters Trinity and Kylie Westerman; brother Walter(Barb)Venadam of MI; sisters Walda Schidler and Theresa Venadam of MI, June Maimone of CA, Florence Doan of NV and Betty(Bob)Runge of NJ; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert(Marge)Herne, Earl Herne, Rita Swamp, Priscilla Herne, Millie(Abe)Thompson and Marie Casey; special friends Larry Logan, Belle Behren and Norm and Jan Darling and many other extended family and friends including all of his friends at Athenia's.
