Shirley was born on Nov. 17, 1924 in Rochester, NY to Jacob and Cora Speckman. She was married to George Lupold on November 28, 1946 in the United Methodist Church of Palmyra.

Shirley was a member of the Genesee Dancers Square Dance Club, the Palmyra Senior Citizens, the Lazy Braves Campers Club and the New York Steam Engine Association. She had volunteered for many years at both Newark and Clifton Springs Hospitals. Shirley was an avid card player and a talented seamstress.

Mrs. Lupold is survived by her daughters Arlene (Louis) Williams of Palmyra and Barbara Jagger of Hopewell; grandchildren Christopher “Kirby” (Connie Young) Waite, Tonya (Steve) McFadden, Nicholas Williams, Stacey (J.T.) Tunnicliff and Kendra (Rich) Lilly; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
