Ruth C. VanDerMallie

Palmyra: Ruth C. VanDerMallie, 94, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center. Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours for Ruth, Friday, May 7, from 5 to 7 PM at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Palmyra, NY, with a service immediately following. Burial will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday May 8 at the Palmyra Cemetery, 272 Vienna St., Palmyra, NY. Ruth was born June 3, 1926, the daughter of the late Byron and Beatrice Coleman Harding. She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting hats for other patients. She was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church and also the Order of the Eastern Star. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Penny Peck; her sons; Steve, Butch, Paul, and Chuck VanDerMallie; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Charles R. VanDerMallie in 2015 and her brother; Fred Harding. Ruth’s family request memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, 1120 Goodman St. South, Rochester, NY 14620.
