PALMYRA: Giles, Robert H., died on Sat., Dec. 6, 2014 at the age of 82. Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7pm on Fri. Dec. 12 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 W. Main St., Palmyra. Please join the family for a committal service in Palmyra Cemetery at noon on Sat. Dec. 13 followed by a memorial service and reception at Western Presbyterian Church of Palmyra at 1pm. Memorials may be directed to Western Presbyterian Church, 101 E. Main St., Palmyra, NY 14522 or to your favorite charity.

Bob was born on July 26, 1932 in Sherwood, NY the son of Harold and Florence Nickerson Giles. He and Eleanor Mapes were married on Oct. 25, 1952 in Auburn , NY. Bob grew up a farmer and moved to Palmyra in 1964. He retired after a few years as a truck driver from Xerox. He was a former member of Drumlin Square Masonic Lodge and the Palmyra Fire Dept. For the last few years Bob served as groundskeeper for the Wayne County Fairgrounds.

Predeceased by his parents, Bob is survived by his wife Ellie; daughter Deborah (Robert Jr.) Francis; sons Roger (Kathy), Richard (Kim), Ronald (Sandy), R. Craig, R. Scott (Noreyda) and R. Dean Giles; sisters Gertrude (Stuart) Jordan and Phyllis (Coral ) Tanner; brother Bruce (Theresa) Giles; 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
