MACEDON: Bender, Robert D., died on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the age of 81. Family and friends are invited to call from 6-8pm on Friday, April 17 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 West Main Street, Palmyra. Graveside Committal service will be held on Saturday, April 18 at 11am at the Palmyra Cemetery (please meet at the Vienna St. entrance). A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 18 at the First Baptist Church of Macedon. Memorials may be directed to the Open Door Mission, P.O. Box 14236, Rochester NY 14608.

Bob grew up in Pennsylvania. After his tour of duty with the U.S. Army in Germany, he and Jane Bender were married in 1958. Bob earned his B.A. Degree from Lafayette College and his Master's at the University of Rochester. He taught World History at Pal-Mac for 32 years. After his retirement he enjoyed gardening, watching the Buffalo Bills and S.U. Basketball and being with “the kids” whom he loved unconditionally; daughter Jennifer, grandson Ethan and granddaughter Emily; son David and grandsons Zane and Zenon.
