PALMYRA: Otterbein, Rita B., died on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the age of 77. Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7pm on Friday, September 2 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc. A mass of Christian burial will be offered at 9am on Saturday, September 3, at St. Anne’s Church at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Palmyra. Burial will follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery.       Rita began a lifetime of service to others while working for the Monroe County Department of Social Services after which she served as Commissioner of the Wayne County Department of Social Services for over 20 years. Rita was a parishioner of St. Anne’s Church and had been a member of the Daughters and Sons of Saint Anne’s and a member of the Finance Council for St. Katharine Drexel Parish. She was President of the Wayne County Nursing Home Foundation and past member of United Way and the American Red Cross. Rita enjoyed golf and gardening.

     She was predeceased by her parents Helen Rice and Clarence Otterbein. Rita is survived by her brother Greg Otterbein; sister-in-law Henrietta Otterbein and niece Rita (Gary)Villa.
