PALMYRA: Maine, Leonora D., died on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the age of 94. Family and friends are invited to call from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, September 12 at the First United Methodist Church of Palmyra. A funeral service will follow calling at 1pm. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery. Lee was born on February 6, 1921in Calgary, Alberta Canada the daughter of Henry and Sara deLeeuw. She was married to James L. Maine, her husband of 63 years, on December 27, 1943 in San Diego, California. Lee was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palmyra where she had been active in many roles. She was a retiree of Palmyra- Macedon School District and a member of the Retired Teachers Association. As an avid bird watcher and lover of nature, Lee enjoyed many summers in Raquette Lake.

Mrs. Maine is survived by her daughter Jeanette (Peter) Haines; sons James N. (Doris) Maine and Donald S. (Barbara) Maine; sister-in-law Margaret deLeeuw; brother-in-law Gary (Connie) Maine; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Jim; sister Sally VanStrien and brother John deLeeuw.
