PALMYRA/FAIRPORT: Smith, Katharine M.; died on March 22, 2015 at the age of 79. Family and friends are invited to call from 7-9pm on Saturday, March 28 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home,Inc., 123 West Main Street, Palmyra. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, March 29 at the Western Presbyterian Church of Palmyra followed by a reception in fellowship hall. Katharine was born on September 15, 1935 in Tupper Lake, NY the daughter of David and Louise Elmer MacAleese. She was an elder and deacon of Western Presbyterian Church and a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Kate is survived by her daughters Tracey(Larry) Hurley and Amy(Mike )Buckert; son Paul (Tara Longyear)Smith; brother John MacAleese; grandchildren Kristina(Ben)Eder, Brandon (Colleen)Hurley, Katie Hurley, Tanner Fox, T.J. Fox, Brodie Buckert, Hayden Mac Smith, Quinn Edward Smith, Paige Brimacomb and Ben Rush; great-grandchildren Caleb and Cohen Eder, Kaysen Craig and Connor Fox; god-daughter Lisa Iggulden Burkhardt; former husband and good friend Stu Smith and numerous cousins and other extended family members.
