PALMYRA: Wallace, Joan M., 69, died on Tues., Oct. 13, 2015. Family and friends are invited to call from 6-8pm on Fri., Oct. 16 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 W. Main St., Palmyra. A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 10am on Sat., Oct. 17 at St. Annes Church of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Palmyra. Burial will be in St. Annes Cemetery. A resident of Hannibal, NY for 41 years, Joan was known as the best cook ever and frequently would cook “lasagna for 100”. Her greatest pleasure was derived from family gatherings and she had a special spot in her heart for her grandchildren.

Joan was predeceased by her parents Emil and Rita Vandevelde. She is survived by her sons Jim (Michelle) and Chris (Brandi) Wallace; sisters Jean (David) Smith and Judy Carkner; brothers Thomas (Kathy) and Phil (Sue) Vandevelde; grandchildren Jamie, Jenna, Jacob and MacKenzie.
