PALMYRA: Hartnagel, James C.; died on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are invited to call from 5-8pm on Monday, December 16 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 W. Main St., Palmyra where a funeral service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, December 17. Burial will follow in Newark Cemetery.      Jim was born on October 30, 1943 in Lyons, New York the son of Curtis and Gertrude Wickman Hartnagel. He was a valued employee and retiree of Mobil Chemical in Macedon. Jim owned the U-Haul and Storage facility in Palmyra as well as his farm in Lyons. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge. Jim enjoyed many friendships and could often be found talking and laughing with others. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. In his spare time Jim could be found spending time on his farm where he could enjoy the outdoors.

      In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by his grandson Curtis Rizzo and a brother Curtis James Hartnagel. He is survived by his wife Elaine; daughter Carole (Thomas) Bauer; son John (Evie) Casano; brother-in-law Gary (Sandie) Decker; grandchildren Lynsey (Ryan) Dunning, Layney Bauer and Bobbi VanDyne; 5 great-grandchildren; nephew Dan Decker; cousin Gerald Decker and best friend Wayne Vanderwall.
