PALMYRA: Joram, Gunther I. "Gunner", 78, died on Sun., May 17, 2009. Family and friends are invited to call from 6-8pm on Fri., May 22 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc. A graveside service with military honors will be at 11am Sat., May 23rd in Palmyra Cemetery. A reception will follow at the American Legion Post #120 in Palmyra. Contributions in memory of Gunner may be directed to the Palmyra American Legion or the Palmyra VFW. Gunner was born on April 20, 1931 in Rochester, NY to Alfred and Maria Maier Joram. He retired from Kodak after 34 years of service. Gunner was a 35 year member and past commander of the James R. Hickey American Legion Post #120, a life member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post # 6778 and a member of the Palmyra Moose Club for 40 years. The funeral home proudly flies the United States Air Force Flag in honor of Gunner's service to our country. Mr. Joram is survived by his daughters Pat Joram and Lynn (Scott) Bishop; sons Joe (Irene) Joram and Bill (Amy) Joram; sisters Shirley Carroll and Sue Miller; grandchildren Eric and Greg Bishop, Rachel, Dannie and Axel Joram; and special friend Cathie Krenz.
