Eloise LaRaus-Wendt (1948-2025)

The light of Eloise LaRaus-Wendt dimmed on April 7, 2025, as she peacefully departed from her home in Macedon, NY, at the age of 77. Her heart, a beacon of unwavering love and boundless compassion, touched every soul fortunate enough to know her.

Born in Long Island, NY, to William and Emily Wood, she blossomed in Rochester, NY, where she rooted herself for over 50 years. Her 45-year love story with her soulmate, Donald Wendt, was a beautiful testament to their bond. She leaves behind her loving children; daughter, Katherine “Kate” LaRaus, her stepchildren; Jeff (Cindy) Wendt, Todd Wendt, and Shane (Kelly Hammond) Wendt, her precious grandchildren; Josh (Lisa) Wendt, Megan (Anthony) Delucia, Taylor Wilde and Lauren Wilde, and adored great-grandchildren; Sophia, Gianna, Maddison, and Michael.

Eloise's spirit was a vibrant melody, her kindness and infectious smile leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. Her cheerful humming, a soundtrack to her daily life, spoke of her ability to find joy in even the simplest moments. Her love for animals and flowers was a tangible expression of her nurturing soul, blossoming on the family farm. Eloise was a traveler of worlds, both through the pages of books and the rhythms of music. She delighted in sweet treats and the cherished adventures shared with family and her best friends, Susie and Diane. Her heart was a haven, always offering a listening ear and a warm hug, reminding us that even in the toughest times, everything would be alright.

A private celebration of her life will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, please honor Eloise's gentle spirit by donating to an animal charity, reflecting her deep love for all creatures.
