PALMYRA: Schwing, Claris Boehmler (ne´e Fairman), Age: 89  Passed peacefully into the Lord’s Presence on October 6th, 2014.  Pre-deceased by her husbands, Frederick J. Boehmler in 1975 and Roger Schwing in 2005. She is survived by her Son, Mark F. Boehmler, Newark, NY; Daughter, Lisa C. Galardi and Son-in-Law, Ronald Galardi of Hackettstown, NJ; Grandchildren, Sarah E. Shoots (John) and Lindsey A. Boehmler; Great Grandchildren, Samuel and Hannah Shoots. Mrs. Schwing was born in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of Roy E. and Marion (Diefendorf) Fairman.  She was a graduate of Syracuse University in Music Education and a member of Chi Omega Sorority.  She taught vocal music for 32 years, retiring in 1988 after 23 years in the Palmyra-Macedon School District.  Her early teaching years were in the Clyde, NY and Victor, NY School Districts.  She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society/Omega Chapter, Syracuse University Alumni Club of Rochester, NY, Palmyra-Macedon Retired Teachers Association, Wayne County and NY State Retired Teachers Associations, and a tutor for Literacy Volunteers of America/Wayne County Chapter. A memorial service will be held at the Western Presbyterian Church at 1pm on November 8, 2014, 101 E. Main Street, Palmyra, NY where Mrs. Schwing was a member and elder for many years.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Western Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.  Burial will be in the Palmyra Village Cemetery at the convenience of the Family.
