PALMYRA: Heumann, Anita Ruth (Emmett); Passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family in Fairport, NY on 12/7/2014. Anita was born on February 19, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to Russell and Dorothy Emmett. She married Kenneth H. Heumann in 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, siblings Dorothy, Helen and Robert Emmett and sister-in-law Susan Emmett. Anita is survived by her children Valerie (Thomas) Morrison, Donna (David) Heckman, Kathy (Stuart) Burleson, William (Elizabeth) Heumann, and Jill (Mark) Huntington; grandchildren, Joelle (Kenneth) Springer, Bethany (Bradley) McGeary, Jacob (Kourtney) Deisenroth, Daniel and Brian Heckman, William, Robert and Steven Heumann and Ryan Huntington; great grandchildren Logan, Kayla, Cole, Cora and Jace and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Richard and Joanne Emmett of Sun City, Arizona. Anita was known as “Grammy” to family and friends alike, and was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was cherished by customers, co-workers, and friends throughout her years at Avon Products, Sibley's, Kaufmann's, and P&C Supermarket. She led a full life surrounded by family and friends and will always be remembered for her devotion to family, her friendly disposition, and her boundless sense of humor. Anita and her family are forever thankful for all of the special assistance and loving care provided by the staff and residents at both Heathwood Assisted Living and the Fairport Baptist Home.  Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7pm on Wednesday, December 10 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 W. Main St., Palmyra. A graveside service will be held at 9am on Thursday, December 11 in Palmyra Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11am in the McKnight Room at Fairport Baptist Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anita’s name to the Special Needs Fund at Heathwood Assisted Living at Penfield.
