PALMYRA: On the morning of September 26, 2015, Albert Drake passed away peacefully at F. F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. Al had just turned 63 years old at the time of his passing.

     Al Drake was born in Wapello, Iowa, on September 15, 1952 and started school in Council Bluffs. He moved with his family to Palmyra, NY in 1965 and graduated from Palmyra-Macedon Central School in 1970. Al moved to San Francisco in 1976, shortly after graduating from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Al possessed a love for cooking and was a talented chef for many years in numerous restaurants throughout northern California. He returned to Palmyra to help his aging parents while continuing to work in food service. There, he met his future wife in 1998.

     Al is survived by his loving wife, Susan Karre of Palmyra, his brother Randy Drake and his wife Anna Drake of Gloucester, Virginia, and his sister Lorrie Drake and her husband Brad Helfer of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. His twin nieces, Elizabeth and Rebecca Helfer will miss their kind uncle. Al was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Jeanne Drake.

     Al loved his family, fishing, his dogs, and rock and roll. Those who knew and loved Albert will miss his intelligence, wit, and generosity.
