Dear Cousin Betty and family:
Cousin Merilee Sampson Fiske called me last night with the sad news about Mary. I am so very sorry for her passing. I recall playing with Mary and Barbara when we were growing up. Mary always had a great laugh and a great heart. Since my parents passing in the 1990s ( Wilma & Nelson ), I do not get up to the area that much anymore. Of course, I am in contact with my brother David who remains in the Rochester area. Merilee and I do keep in touch and I was in the area in April for Merilee's 50th wedding anniversary. I always visit the cemetery in East Palmyra where so many family members are resting. I only recently discovered where over 15 Thompson family members are buried---in Furnaceville, near Ontario.
I am sorry that I cannot make it up there for the services but will send a contribution to the church as requested. Again our condolences at this sad loss.
