MACEDON: Margaret N. Eaton (Peg) was born October 24, 1923 in Melrose, Massachusetts. She was the youngest of the three daughters of William Josiah Nutter and Miriam Fearing Nutter. She earned a BS in Chemistry from Simmons College and moved to Rochester to work in the lab for Eastman Kodak. She joined the Outing Club and was actively involved in church. She met James C Eaton (Jim) at Eastman Kodak and they were married December 20, 1947. Margaret was actively involved in the Macedon Center Grange, the Woman’s Society, King’s Daughters Library, and the Macedon Center United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and later became an Advisor with her husband of a High Adventure Explorer Post. She and her husband took many trips with young people to Philmont Scout Ranch, canoeing trips to the Adirondacks and the North Maine Woods and helped the young people compete in a canoe race on Mud Creek which is now named after them. Peg and Jim became affectionately known by the many young people they worked with as Ma and Pa Eaton. When Jim retired, they became involved with Home Meal Service, Inc Meals-onWheels of Wayne County delivering hot meals to those in need. She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Carolyn and Mary and her husband Jim. She is survived by her children: Carolyn (Leslie) Bridgewater, James (Barbara) Eaton, Kenneth (Shari) Eaton and Ruth Ann (Keith) Morris; her grandchildren: Melanie Davila, Alex Mordas, Nicholas James Bridgewater, Seth Eaton, Kristin Eaton, Mark Morris, Scott Morris, Dan Morris, Matthew Eaton, Kenneth Eaton, and eight great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11am on Sat., July 27 (NOTE DATE) at the Macedon Center United Methodist Church followed by a reception.
