CLIFTON SPRINGS: Melcher, Jane L.; died on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the age of 82. Family and friends are invited to call from 11-2 on Saturday, January 5 at the Robert L.      Jane was born on March 18, 1936 in Fayette, New York the daughter of Harvey and Edith Wilson Smith. She had been employed by Clifton Springs Hospital and Red Jacket Schools and had been active with T.O.P.S. for over 30 years. She enjoyed camping and loved her coffee and baking. Most important to Jane was her family.

   Jane is survived by her husband of 65 years Bill Melcher; children Bill (Kathy) Melcher, Judy (Gary) Patterson, Jill (Steve) Karge and Brenda (Brian) Conklin; “adopted daughter” Kim Leno; sister Phyllis (Sonny) Maslyn; brothers Harold and Harvey Smith; sister-in-law Mary Smith; grandchildren Adam and Nicholas Maslyn, Billy Melcher, Darren Karge, Holly Zeger, Megan Ryan, Morgan Foulkrod, Paul Byer and Jessica Randall; great-grandchildren, Avari Melcher, Eliza Maslyn, Carter Karge, Ashton Zeger, Mason Ryan, Kyla Ryan, Penelope Foulkrod, Landon and Caleb Byer, Gavin, Niila and Lincoln Randall and best friend Peg. She is predeceased by her sisters and their husbands Fran and Steve Zadarlik, Alice and Ken Craver, Louise and Chet Yonker, brother Lewis Smith; sister-in-law Nancy Smith and grandson Billy Melcher III.
