PALMYRA: Deys, Cynthia DeMay; died on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the age of 96. Family and friends are invited to call from 5-7pm on Saturday, March 4 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 West Main Street, Palmyra. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, March 5 at Western Presbyterian Church of Palmyra. A reception will follow in fellowship hall.     Cynthia was born on March 18, 1920 in Newark, New York the daughter of Leon and Elizabeth Scheerens DeMay. She was a devoted member of Western Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and had helped serve many lunches to the Palmyra-Macedon Rotary Club.

    Mrs. Deys is survived by her son Gary (Pat) Deys; daughter Cheryl Deys; daughter-in-law Esther Deys; grandchildren Christopher Deys, Jeanne Collier, Cindy (Mike) Derrick, James (Kellie) Deys, Kathleen Deys and Emily (Tim) Bojanowski; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Henry Deys Jr., son James Deys; brothers Joseph DeMay and Leon DeMay Jr. and daughters-in-law Ruth Deys and Margaret Deys.
