EAST PALMYRA/PENFIELD: Bump, Richard P. “Dick”, 84, died on Sat., July 22, 2017. Family and friends are invited to call from 4 to 7pm on Tues., July 25 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 W. Main St., Palmyra. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Wed., July 26 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in East Palmyra Cemetery. Dick was born on June 9, 1933 in Palmyra, NY the son of Harold and Theda Quinter Bump. He was a Life member of the East Palmyra Fire Dept. Dick was a member and Past Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6778 , a member of the James R. Hickey American Legion Post 120, the Korean War Veterans Association and had been a participant on Honor Flight. The funeral home proudly flies the United States Army flag in honor of Dick’s service to our country during the Korean War.
Dick is survived by his special life companion Phyllis Dimitropoulos; daughter Linda (Dave) Hoad; sons Jeffrey (Michelle) Bump and Paul Dimitropoulos; sister Margaret Fuller; grandchildren Kari (Justin) Blake and Kati (Jason) Cooley and 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley; son William Bump; sister Beverly Bump and brothers Irvin and Robert Bump.
