NIAGARA FALLS: Age 82, born in Palmyra, New York, where she graduated from Palmyra High School. In 1952 Margaret moved to Niagara Falls to attend Buffalo State Teachers College where she received a Bachelors and later a Master’s Degree in Library Science. Margaret was a teacher and librarian in the Niagara Falls school district where she taught for more than 30 years. A devout Catholic, after retiring, Margaret volunteered in the gift shops at Mt. Saint Mary’s Hospital and Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home for more than 10 years. She sent birthday cards and Christmas presents to every family member, and people she thought of as family, every year. Margaret loved to travel and the experiences she had with her friends and family on her many trips. Margaret incorporated many mementos from her travels into her home. She loved “flutter-bys” (butterflies) and bells and had an impressive collection, including butterfly wings on the front of her home. She is predeceased by her parents Theresa and Louis Wizeman, siblings Kathleen Wizeman Lewis, Joseph Wizeman, Patricia Wizeman and Joan Wizeman Poulson. Survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and dear friend Rick Malfa.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 30th from 2 – 5:30 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, followed by a funeral service at 5:30 P.M. A prayer service will be held on Saturday, April 1st at 10:00 A.M. at Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, 123 West Main Street, Palmyra, NY 14522. Interment in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Palmyra, NY.
