Deb, I'm not sure I ever sent my condolences. I'm so sorry for this sudden loss. I hope you're doing well, but I imagine 2 months isn't nearly enough time to "adjust" to such a huge loss. I'll keep you in my prayers.
Hugs and blessings,
Robin

Prior to meeting Lou in person, I was told he was the Wayne County Probation Home Confinement specialist. As he was taking over my position as Monroe County Probation Home confinement Officer, I instantly resented him. However, on his first day at Monroe County, I was assigned to "show him the ropes". At the end of that day, he totally changed my mind. With his wit & sense of humor, we quickly became friends. I will always remember our fishing trip to the French River & all of our "white knuckle" lunch hours. He was a loyal friend who always made me laugh & lifted my spirits when I was having a bad day. I truly regret loosing touch with him after we retired. Miss you Lou & will always carry you in my heart.

Your friend,

Rick Pressley

I was stunned to hear the news about Louie today. My heart is broken for Deb and his family and I send them my sincere sympathy. Louie was one of a kind and one of my favorite people in high school. Years later, whenever I saw him, there was an immediate smile and sharing of great memories. He will be sadly missed!

Dear Trombino Family;
I came to know Lou as one of the very first Officers I met back in 1996 when I became a PO. He and fellow Officer Doug Norris would often bestow their wisdom upon me; then a "youngster". He was a supportive colleague and shaped me as a young professional. Lou will be remembered fondly.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Kristine

Deb and family,
Sad for the sudden passing of such a jovial and kind spirited man. I came to know Louie as a fellow Monroe County Probation Officer, I really got to know him especially during walks at the Reservoir, Lou's favorite place to walk, or going to lunch at only the best Italian food restaurants, Antoinette's, Rockies or Calabresella's. Louie loved his God, family, food and friends. I was truly honored and blessed to have gotten to know him and though regrettably he's not here physically let the Lord who was Louie's stronghold while with us encourage your hearts now as well. He will truly be missed.

I was shocked and saddened to see the obituary of Probation Officer, Louis Trombino. I was also a P. O. at the same West Main Street Office until Lou retired. I and many officers enjoyed Lou's friendship, wit and humor. To his wife Deborah and his sons David and Mark, please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your loved one. I apologize for not attending Lou's memorial service but I am disabled and homebound.

I was sorry to learn a few days ago that Louie had died. I have known Louie for approximately 40 years. He originally was a Probation officer in Wayne County and then he transferred to the State. He was a great human being and a strong personal rights advocate. He and his 2nd Amendment rights advocacy will be greatly missed. Unfortunately, I am out of state for several days and will not be able to attend his calling hours or funeral service. Thank you for bringing his loss to the attention of all SCOPE members.

Louie was a good friend and a stand-up guy who would be there for you in a bad situation. He was so light on his feet for a big man, and his marksmanship was only outdone by his terrific sense of humor (which was invaluable in awful times). If only you could see Lou at work trying to get into or out of a 1982 Chevy Chevette, which he described as coming in one size, "uncomfortable," it was a laugh riot. Louie was so in love with his wife, Debbie, and so proud of his sons. RIP.
