PALMYRA: Collins, Doris I., died on Monday, April 9, 2012 at the age of 83. Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Thursday, April 12 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 W. Main Street, Palmyra. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, April 13 at the First Baptist Church in Macedon. Private burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Care Net, 184 E. Union St., Newark, NY 14513 or to Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Rd. Lyons, NY 14489. Doris was a long time volunteer for the Crisis Pregnancy Center. She had a soft spot for children and was a mother to many foster children. She hosted Bible studies in her home and enjoyed her flower gardens. Doris was predeceased by her husband Roy in 1994. she is survived by her daughter Laura (Don) Park; sons Dave (Liz), Jim (Ida), Steve (Alicia) and Mike (Joanne) Collins; sister Peggy Steffen; 10 grandchildren;5 great-grandchildren (plus 2 on the way) and many friends.
